Education Centers

EDUCATION CENTERS have many identities depending on the nature of the educational mission.

While in the broadest sense, ALL of the camps and centers on the client list are engaged in education, some groups provide FORMAL education for public and private schools or organizational purposes - outdoor and environmental education for children, training or education for agencies and classes for colleges and universities.

These resident education centers meet the curriculum requirements of the affiliated educational institution(s) through non-traditional experiential activities. Their staff members usually have special academic or training credentials appropriate to the education being offered. The site must offer residential space typical of any camp or center and the specific educational resources and classrooms appropriate to the curriculum.

The KALEIDOSCOPE inc. consultants know that the requirements of these institutions are somewhat different from camps and centers who offer growth experiences that are personal and voluntary. And they are clear that educational centers vary from each other depending on the student population they serve.

An education center may have a singular educational specialty related to the primary organizational mission. It may be a part of a multi-style camp and conference center in which a specific aspect of the organization is an educational program. The center may only provide hospitality services and site resources to other groups who direct educational programs.

Regardless of the level of involvement in the educational curriculum, the KALEIDOSCOPE inc. professionals can assist with issues related to using an outdoor setting and experiential model for formal education, especially with regard to risk management, marketing of the programs and services, operational requirements and site design.

In the days of the browser wars between Netscape and Microsoft, many hacks were propagated by the competing companies. However, today these hacks have done more to hurt the Web than to help the battling companies. By downloading and installing one of the programs listed above, the Web will be one step closer to eliminating these hacks and bugs.
